Golden Visa
Residence permit in Spain through investment
One of the most efficient and quickest ways to obtain a residence permit in Spain is for a non-EU citizen to make an investment in Spain.
To obtain the Golden Visa it is necessary to make one of the following investments:
- Acquire real estate assets with a value equal to or greater than €500,000. This investment can be made personally or through a company.
- Capital investment of €1,000,000 or more in the share capital of a Spanish company, in investment funds or bank deposits.
- Investment in Spanish public debt with a value of €2,000,000 or more.
- Setting up a business project to be developed in Spain considered to be of general interest.
The main advantages of obtaining a residence permit in Spain through the above investments are the following:
- Residing and working in Spain, as well as traveling in countries that form part of the Schengen area.
- It does not require tax residency in Spanish territory. Tax residency would imply residing in Spain for more than 183 days per year. The Golden Visa only requires the investor to travel at least once a year to Spanish territory.
- Possibility to apply for a residence permit for their dependent family members (spouses, under age children, children of legal age and parents who are financially dependent on the investor).
